Michael
Allen
May 10, 1956 — Sep 15, 2026
Michael “Star Rat” Allen
May 10, 1956 – September 15, 2026
Michael Allen, lovingly known by his family and friends as “Star Rat” or “Uncle Mike,” passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, following the Yankees game, with two of his nieces by his side.
Mike was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, his sisters Kathy and Jean, and his brothers William, Donald, and Richard, along with his many adoring nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who brought tremendous joy and meaning to his life.
For Mike, life was meant to be enjoyed one sporting event at a time. He was a true baseball fan, with a special place in his heart for the Toronto Blue Jays and the Long Island Ducks. But some of his favorite memories came from sharing his love of sports with his family. Mike loved taking his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews to baseball games, attending their games, cheering them on from the stands, and celebrating every hit, run, basket, touchdown, and victory right alongside them. During travel times and in between sporting events, he created endless dice games and enjoyed playing them with everyone.
Mike and Linda also generously gave their time as volunteers at the Long Island Rail Road Museum in Riverhead, where they shared their enthusiasm of trains with others.
Above all, Mike will be remembered for the love he had for his family and for the countless memories he created with them. His presence in the stands, his enthusiasm for baseball, his endless sports history knowledge alongside his boundless love for the people around him will be deeply missed.
He may have been known as Uncle Mike, or "Star Rat", but to so many, he was much more than an husband, brother, uncle and friend —he was giving and a joy to be around.
Final arrangements are currently in process.
