James Peter Altebrando passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud papa, cherished son, and caring brother whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew him.

James shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife of 40 years, Cyndi, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories in Port Jefferson, NY. He was the proud father of Alexandra Larkin (Brian), Matthew, and Julia Reiser (Jimmy). Nothing brought him greater joy than being "Papa" to his four adored grandchildren, Sophia, Madison, John, and James, who were truly the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Altebrando. He is survived by his loving mother, Katherine Altebrando, and his dear siblings, Nick Altebrando (Linda) and Teresa Polster (Keith) along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

James was a man of compassion, generosity, and service. He was a proud member of the Lions Club and served on the board of Hope House Ministries, dedicating much of his time to helping others and supporting those in need. His caring spirit and willingness to give back to his community reflected the kind of man he was throughout his life.

James will be remembered for his gentle heart, unwavering devotion to his family, and the love he so freely gave to everyone around him. His presence brought comfort, strength, and joy, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Infant Jesus Church in Port Jefferson, NY on Saturday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m.

In honor of James's wishes, donations may be made to Hope House Ministries in lieu of flowers.
