Charles T. Pyne Jr., age 68, passed away on February 3, 2026.
Born on July 25, 1957, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Charles was the son of Charles T. Pyne Sr. and Patricia Pyne. He spent his early childhood in Ann Arbor before moving to California, where he began his formal education. From an early age, he showed a compassionate heart, steady determination, and a deep desire to serve others.
Charles earned his Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping individuals reach their fullest potential.
He devoted many years of service to the Boy Scouts of America, working in the office and leading numerous camps. Charles had a special gift for mentoring young people. Through patience, guidance, and encouragement, he helped shape the lives of countless youth, instilling values of integrity, leadership, and perseverance. His influence will be felt for generations.
A devoted man of faith, Charles was a member of Lake Ronkonkoma United Methodist Church, where he found great joy in worship and fellowship. He especially loved singing in the choir, sharing his voice and spirit with the congregation.
Charles had a vibrant and joyful spirit. He loved performing his clown ministry, spreading the message of faith and bringing smiles to people of all ages. His ability to combine humor with heartfelt encouragement reflected his deep love for God and for others. Music was also a great passion in his life. He enjoyed playing the trombone and loved singing, generously sharing his remarkable voice with everyone around him.
Charles met the love of his life, Cheryl Pyne, through their church community. They were married in May of 1981 and built a life centered on love, faith, and devotion.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cheryl Pyne, and his father, Charles T. Pyne Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Pyne; his mother, Patricia Pyne; his brothers, Steven Pyne (Anne) and Bill Pyne (Kim); and his sisters, Kathy Steward (David), Sharon Shoemaker (Russ), and Susan Moriarty (Paul).
Charles will be remembered for his kindness, joyful spirit, deep faith, and steadfast dedication to family and community. He will be remembered by all his loving family. His life was one of service, love, and integrity.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
May his memory bring comfort to all who were blessed to know him.
