Obituary for Michael Barral
Michael A. Barral, aged 64, passed away in peace on January 16, 2024, after complications due to cancer. Michael is survived by his wife, Eileen (née Sinnott), sons Anthony and Nicholas, and grandchildren Michael and Avery. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Anthony.
Michael was born in Huntington, New York, to Ida and Anthony Barral on April 19, 1959. Growing up in East Northport, New York, along with his sister Patricia, Michael would go on to grow the family lawn care business into a thriving landscape architecture company. Michael loved to create, and his talent for constructing beautiful landscapes was one of a kind. Though a very hard-working man, his number one focus was his family. Michael would always look to spend as much time with his family as he could, knowing that was the most important aspect of life. Michael was a man who genuinely got joy from the happiness of others, often putting others joy in front of his own. Michael personified the best qualities of everyone, and his loss will be felt by all who knew him. However, having the privilege of knowing him, we can consider ourselves truly blessed.
A time for visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, from 2-4 p.m. and 4 p.m. at St. James Funeral Home, located at 829 Middle Country Rd. A funeral service will be held on January 20th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Smithtown, at 280 E. Main St.
