The Family of Gregory John DeAbreu of Selden, New York are saddened to announce his passing away on September 28, 2021, at the age of 58 years. Gregory is survived by children, host of relatives, and friends. Gregory would want all those who are grieving his loss to know he lived a full and purposeful life and was a friend to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He loved the Knicks basketball team and would collect autographed pictures of the players, he enjoyed talking about basketball with his son, indulging in candy, and laughing. Whenever someone was in need he never second-guessed lending a hand. Becoming a Deacon and being a member of the choir worship team was one of his greatest joys. When he wasn’t in the church, he would spend most of his time writing books that indulged in the beauty of God and the beauty of the clear blue sky and clouds. Comic books, video games and Karate (Black Belt), movies, dwelling in nature, and listening to rap and gospel were some of his favorite hobbies. He was a gentle spirit and loved his family. His favorite place he loved to go with his kids was the sand dune parks in Port Jefferson, Bahamas, and adventuring the city of New York. He was a Light in the world, and a Rainbow in the rain. Greg is at peace and is resting in heaven.
