Obituary for Angela Migliozzi

Angela Migliozzi, 89, of Mastic Beach, NY, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

“Angie” was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clem Migliozzi, her cherished daughter Patti Skarren, and two of her dear sisters, Frances Paternostro and Theresa Lanaia. She is survived by her son Glenn Migliozzi (Lynn) and her sister Lorraine Scelzi (Jerry). “GG” will be sorely missed by her six grandchildren - Jaclyn Schoeneman (James), Danielle Frey (Luke), Thomas Skarren (Angela), Cara Leonardo (Mike), Matt Migliozzi (Raleigh), and Grace Migliozzi. In addition, Angie leaves behind eight great grandchildren — Jackson Schoeneman, Mason Frey, Gavin Frey, Logan Frey, Aubrey Frey, Christian Skarren, Gianna Skarren, and Max Leonardo.

Angie was born on April 25, 1934 in Brooklyn NY. She was one of four sisters: Frances, Angie, Lorraine and Theresa who all grew up closely together creating an unwavering lifetime bond. Angie graduated from the Sarah J. Hale High School with training to become a seamstress. She carried that love of fashion throughout her whole life, always dressing to the nines for every occasion. She was always meticulously put together from head to toe from her cherished collection of clothing, shoes and jewelry. She was especially known for an affinity for sequins and leopard prints!

Soon after high school, in 1954, Angie married the love of her life, Clem Migliozzi. The two were inseparable for 65 years until Clem’s passing in 2019. They had a deep bond that they shared with their extended family, especially their two children, Patti and Glenn with whom they shared Apt 5K in Electchester Queens for over 50 years. Angie was active with Clem at their local parish, St. Nicholas of Tolentine, throughout those years stepping up to volunteer for all kinds of roles, even baseball manager! Once she became an empty nester, Angie went to work at Abraham and Strauss (later Macy’s). She could be found browsing the aisles every lunch break in search of bargains to add to her closet. She worked there for over twenty years until she and Clem retired and moved to Mastic Beach to be near their daughter. Once settled in Mastic, they could be found dancing every summer night at the beach hut. In fact dancing was a lifelong passion for Angie and Clem. They were known to participate in dance events at local community centers far and wide. They even won a dancing contest on the Wendy Williams show!

In her final years, Angie could often be found sitting in front of her home, greeting neighbors and petting all the furry friends from the neighborhood. They looked forward to the doggie treats she always kept on hand for them. Her presence will be missed by all the folks at the Fairfield in Mastic Beach.

A memorial mass will be held for Angie at St. Jude RCC, 89 Overlook Drive, Mastic Beach, NY on Saturday, November 18th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Angie can be made to Angels of Long Island, https://www.angelsoflongisland.com/about_us.
